About the event
Inclusive and Accessible Mindful Movement
Inclusive and accessible mindful movement is a child-centered approach that combines gentle movement, breathing, mindfulness, and play while honoring each child's unique strengths, abilities, sensory needs, culture, communication style, and developmental level. Children are invited—not required—to participate, with multiple options for movement so everyone can experience success.
The goal of inclusive and accessible mindful movement is not perfect yoga poses—it is helping children develop lifelong skills for self-awareness, self-regulation, confidence, connection, and well-being through joyful movement experiences that honor every child's individuality. There is no one-size-fits-all program; lessons are adapted to the needs, interests, and preferences of the children being served.
We recognize that children may benefit from different supports such as
● Noise-reducing headphones
● Visual schedules
